Just within a few months: Corbis bought ZEFA, Getty Images acquired RetroFile and Photonica, and now JupiterImages -- the takeover of the Dynamic Graphics Group (Creatas, PictureQuest, Liquid Library) and Goodshoot is still young -- is going to acquire PictureArts "for approximately $63.2 million in cash" with the brands of Nonstock, Botanica, BrandXPictures and FoodPix. More here and here (LA Bus.Journ., "Jupitermedia Buys PictureArts in $63.2 Million Deal")
Earlier JupiterImages already acquired Comstock and Thinkstock.
The price is a little bit higher than what Corbis paid for ZEFA (estimated at €56 million). The gossip factory is working overtime. Or, as an early reader wrote: "JupiterImages is starting to aim at Corbis and finally wants to become Number two. Remember, they are public. Corbis still is not. And Getty will never get a single chance to buy JupiterImages off the JupiterMedia network. That´s the real story why Getty dumps JupiterImages and finalized the distribution agreement. They knew earlier."
Weird stuff? -- So far the rumour mill.
