Latest News On The Stock Photo Industry Intelligence And Press Release Business
Superior Genius Jim Pickerell, owner of the Stock Photo Industry Central Press Release Intelligence Agency (SPICPRIA), did it again. See Story 749, Press release 2: "These press releases include ...", August 11, 2005. Click only if you´ve paid.
It´s a shame: another story with the subject "Press release 2", published earlier as Story 741, July 11, 2005, was also entitled "Press release 2".
A spokesman of Credit Suisse First Boston told Phototalk: "This is the latest enhancement of the new Stock Photo Industry business model TMFRPR (Take-Money-For-Reading-Press-Releases). You now not only have to pay to read press releases, but you also have to pay now for stuff that you have already read earlier."
An underground analyst of TWGA said: "We are thrilled. This is again highlighting the potential of generating revenues from the vertical markets in the Stock Photo Industry. In comparison with SPICPRIA, business ideas like OnRequest Images are only lame ducks. We expect that websites that do not take fees for reading press releases, like the section "Stock Photography News" of Creativepro, will soon run out of business."
A young entrepreneur added overzealously: "Don´t quote me on that, but just like the visual search engine provider PiXlogic, my new start-up OnRequest Press Releases has just closed a First Round with In-Q-Tel, the private venture group funded by the Central Intelligence Agency. We expect this to be a major breakthrough in monitoring the Stock Photo Industry."
Industry veteran John Flewin of Footage.info, who recently joined the Stock Footage Industry Press Release Business with his subsidiary Footageinfo.blogspot.com, creating a Press Release Cemetery for the Footage Industry, was not availabe for comment.
Representatives of NYC-based PR-companies Edelman and Trylon Communications added: "Howdidodi. That´s a complete fuckup. But we think that OnRequest Images´split is an excellent way to calculate. So now at least 25% of the press release distribution revenues gets back to us."
