Lightroom Photos is a photojournalism archive of documentary and reportage still photographs. The collection numbers some 5,000 stock photo images and new stock photos are added every week. To make the collection more competitive with RF Microstock, Lightroom has reduced it's "seed price" (from which license prices are calculated) to just £25 - which means a 75% reduction in license prices.
This makes us the best-priced and perhaps the only Rights Managed Microstock portal in the world.
Jonathan Mitchell, photojournalist and Managing editor of Lightroom Photos, publishes also the inhouse Lightroom Magazine, a new magazine for photojournalists, picture editors, researchers and editorial stock photographers, online since March 2007 (see issue April / May 2007):
"I will also be adding more info regarding video photojournalism, as it looks like most of us may be using them very soon!".
Mitchell added in an interview with this famous website:
"Changing the seed price from £100 to £25 means that clients all over the world get a great deal, whether you are downloading images for a publication or web site in Delhi or Dundee", says Jonathan Mitchell, Lightroom´s Managing Editor.
Mr. Mitchell hopes that his new licensing model will encourage buyers to support photojournalism and buy less RF Microstock.
"The quality of some RF Microstock sites is good, so we need to adapt to new market conditions. Naturally, reportage needs special licensing to avoid abusive usages, etc., so I developed this model of low fee, Rights Managed licenses," Mitchell says.
He also adds that pressure from publishers who want cheap bulk deals from large portals puts more pressure on independent photojournalists, lower RM Microstock fees offer a "level playing field" according to Mitchell.
So, Robert Prior of StockIndexOnline, instead of writing spam comments to posts here which in no way are related with the content of those posts, written with the only intention that a link to your website appears here to boost your ridiculous low Alexa ranking and make you feel more comfortable with your paying ad customers you like to keep happy with grabbed content: unless you won´t change your behaviour, no link here for you. Sorry about that.
Maybe you develope a Rights Managed Microcontent business model for visited blogs so I can charge you?
