- New UK-based Twenty Twenty photo agency:
It's undeniably cheering to see that in the agency market, independence is still in style. And not only that - it's successful enough for new, small players to enter the market.
"I think people prefer to work with smaller companies", says Frede Spencer - who used to look after editorial assignments at Corbis - of his new agency, Twenty Twenty, representing six photographers working across a wide range of editorial and advertising. "I can offer a better service, with better understanding of who I'm working with."
Twenty Twenty is a commercial agency but, as Carl de Keyzer´s experiences at Magnum Photos show, staying independent and (relatively) small can work for other kinds of agency too - provided they move with the times and stay relevant.
