After the launch of the Infinite Collection in late 2007 Fotolia does it now the other way round and introduces the Reseller API shortly before the CEPIC congress:
- "An additional way of co-operating with the classic image agencies, Fotolia now offers other image banks the chance to easily run a microstock company under their own brand, or to simply resell Fotolia images - in any language, in any currency."
- "You will have instant access to more than 3.7 million images and the latest technology necessary to run such a business; meaning neither developers nor expensive hardware are required. The images are already hosted on our servers, you just need to provide your own branding and marketing. Then you take control of your image prices and payments from your customers."
- The Reseller API will also allow subscription: "You decide if the site is to stand alone or to be integrated with your current collection, and if you would like single download or subscription."
Oleg Tscheltzoff told me that this means "people with the Reseller API can use our system to create any kind of packages - even subscription, or offer images for free or whatever, so it is a use of the Reseller API to make packaged offers, but we don“t provide subscription."
- Responding to my question, if the Reseller API will grant access to the Infinite Collection, Tscheltzoff said: "The Reseller API does not support the Infinite Collection for now, but might later."
