Herzeliya, Israel, October 8, 2003 –PicScout today announced that using its Visual Tracker service Visual Photos was able to pursue over 40 cases of copyright infringements, generating substantial revenue to the company.
The Image Tracker service is based on the PicScout proprietary image recognition technology that enables stock photography agencies to effectively monitor and protect the use of their copyrighted images over the commercial Internet. PicScout received digital copies of images that are represented by Visual Photos and compared them with images on commercial web sites in Israel. Within a month of launching the service, over 40 copyright infringements were located. The evidential reports enabled Visual to enforce the copyright and recapture lost revenue.
