Cardiff, May 08, 2006. The Liszt Collection is a monumental international project to preserve a vital, vivid, visual portrayal of history through contemporary engravings.
Through its 1,000,000+ 19th century engravings and images the Liszt Collection narrates the world of yesterday and our history, depicting a vast array of subjects and places that have changed greatly over time.
Gwyn Headley, Managing Director of fotoLibra, enthused “Clearly an undertaking of this magnitude represents a huge commitment to the future growth of the company. We anticipate uploading around 1,000 images a week over the next twelve months, accelerating the process as more original material is scanned, captioned and keyworded."
“We are making a substantial additional investment in storage to contain the high-quality image files, and expect the entire project to be completed within five years. Hundreds of images from the Liszt Collection are already available on the fotoLibra site for immediate searching and purchasing, either for image rights or as physical prints.”
Michael van Geyt for The Liszt Collection added “For the Liszt Collection, fotoLibra offers a great way of getting its collection online. One of the Liszt Collection's main aims is to be an eye-opener, showing a variety of cultures and regions, which will be now achieved through cooperating with fotolibra. It is hoped that by gaining a better understanding of the people of our world, a better connection will evolve.”
