Gruner + Jahr Photo Award 2008

Hamburg, Mar. 20, 2008. The Gruner + Jahr (G+J) photo award is a prize for professional new talent and young professional photographers up to the age of 35 years. Previously unpublished work from 2007 and 2008 may be submitted through March 31, 2008.

The award is aimed at aspiring professionals who are either still in training, have finished their education, or have already undertaken their first commissions for magazines and advertising agencies.

The award is offered in eight categories with different themes and conditions, that are based on the everyday requirements of editorial offices and agencies.

You may submit work for several categories (please fill in a separate application form for each category).

With this award, Gruner + Jahr is expanding its promotion of photography using an independent instrument for the targeted promotion of young talent.

G+J wants to open doors for young photographers, together with its editorial partners STERN, STERN.DE, NEON, VIEW, BRIGITTE, LIVING AT HOME, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DEUTSCHLAND and its partners in the advertising category, Picture Press, Draftfcb, Economia and KNSK.

All nominated work will be presented at an exhibition at the G+J Pressehaus Hamburg during the Photography Triennial Hamburg from April 19 – 27, 2008.

Nominees will be invited to the G+J Pressehaus for the private viewing on Friday, April 18, 2008, as well as to the awards show at the Photography Triennial on April 20, 2008 (G+J will not cover travel expenses).
