The Bridgeman Art Library represents Europe’s Best Museum
London, UK, June 13, 2008. Kumu Art Museum, the new incarnation of the Art Museum of Estonia, has been declared the winner of the 2008 European Museum of the Year Award.
38 of the 140 candidates were given the opportunity to introduce their museums at the event held in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin and the total number of participating countries was 20.
The Bridgeman Art Library holds approximately 140 images from this museum including works by Estonian artists, tracing the development of Estophile German culture in the 19th century, as well as the emergence of the so-called Estonian Awakening Movement and 20th century cubist works.
