OJO Images travels to Guatemala with Compassionate Eye Foundation

London, UK, Nov. 12, 2008. As part of their support for the Compassionate Eye Foundation (CEF), OJO Images Chairman Chris Ryan and fellow OJO Director Rob Daly left London in September to travel to a remote area of Guatemala. Their aim was to see for themselves how OJO Images fundraising efforts for CEF are being used to help in this poverty stricken region.

Ryan and Daly set-up a free family photo session in one village and visited a school that has been built by royalties generated from the licensing of the Foundations imagery. They documented their experiences in a short film.

OJO Images photographers have donated over 500 images to CEF since 2007. The contributing photographers create imagery that becomes part of an on-going source of funding for the foundation’s philanthropic efforts. CEF’s innovative fundraising model is the first of its kind that generates non-profit funding through an image licensing process.

In the UK each June, OJO Images pulls together hundreds of people including photographers, models and crew to participate in the foundation’s annual summer solstice shoots. A “behind the scenes” short film can be seen on their website blog OJOTV (see below)
