The Getty Images app enables users to search, save to a lightbox and share over 24 million images, allowing for more creativity and collaboration when bringing ideas to life.
It also brings the same search capabilities of the Getty Images web site to the iPad, including the ability to customize your gallery page to see all of the latest or keyword-specific images.
Other features of the Getty Images app for iPad include:
- Shake the iPad to see random search results
- Compare up to four images side by side to find the perfect shot for your project
- Scroll through thousands of images in seconds
- Sign in to your Getty Images account to save images to existing lightboxes or create new ones – in real time
- Add voice recordings to lightboxes and play full screen slideshows of lightbox contents
- Share lightboxes, single images or multiple images with others via email
The app was designed and developed in conjunction with Ubermind of Seattle, WA. A similar iPhone app, which will also be free, will be available in the coming months.
WHY: Getty Images designed the app based on customer research where more than half of those surveyed responded that they currently use their mobile device to look at stock media websites. The iPad’s innovative technology and functionality enabled Getty Images to devise an app that enhances how customers are currently searching for imagery.
The Getty Images iPad app takes advantage of the device’s high resolution, full color screen and advanced capabilities to provide creatives with the ability to display and interact with the company’s vast library of compelling and powerful high-quality imagery.
