Portray Limited Acquires Action Plus

London, Apr. 22, 2009. Action Plus, as 30-year old sports image library, based in London, has been acquired by Portray Limited, a company wholly owned by industry veteran Stephen Hearn. For 30 years, Action Plus was owned and operated by Richard Francis, a well known and sought after car and motorbike event photographer.

The library, mostly editorial with news/feature images deep in over 300 different sporting elements, now extends to over 1.3 million images and has over 20 worldwide agencies representing the content.

ImagePoint AG Takes Over Business Activities from One to X

Zurich, Switzerland, Jan. 15, 2009. As of now the Zurich based photographic agency ImagePoint AG takes over the business activities of the Karlsruhe based photographic agency One to X. Customer service for former One to X clients will now take place on ImagePoint's platform www.imagepoint.biz. Step by step ImagePoint will adopt part of the images out of the One to X agency stock.

This transaction enables the Swiss photographic agency ImagePoint AG, which is already active in the whole German speaking area, to further strengthen its presence on the German market.

NordicPhotos acquire Spegla Image agency

NordicPhotos that recently launched a new web site have now strengthen their range of Nordic images

Stockholm, Sweden, Dec. 09. 2008. NordicPhotos, Image agency with offices in Stockholm, Reykjavik and Oslo have acquired the Swedish image agency Spegla. Spegla was founded in 2006 by photographer Eva Lindblad and designer Niklas Lindblad and currently consists of 20 represented photographers. Spegla has been described as an Image archive with integrity and personal content from young photographers and artists.

New Car and Bike Photo Library website

Bournemouth, Dorset, UK, Nov. 26, 2008. The Car and Bike Photo Library recently launched their brand new website which has all the functionality that today’s picture researcher needs, including lightboxes and pop-up previews for faster selection of images.

The revised stocklist now displays details of every car and bike currently in the archive, with live links to all vehicles which have already been uploaded. Both image collections are updated with new images every week.

Alaska Stock Images signs Distribution Agreement with French Agency Hemis

Anchorage, AK, Nov. 20, 2008. Alaska Stock Images, Alaska’s largest stock photo agency, announced their new distribution partnership with Hemis of France. Globally represented in 29 countries, the Alaska Stock collection provides an excellent source of Alaskan photos from the Great Land to customers of the Hemis image library.

Picture this: Berliner and Rex merge to take on US image market

London/UK, Los Angeles/CA, Oct. 17, 2008. Alan Berliner and John Selby are pleased to announce the merger of the Berliner group of companies and Rex Features’ North America operations. The two companies will work in partnership in the USA bringing a greater range and depth of choice for both companies’ clients in the USA, the UK and worldwide.

Rex will now be investing in the development of production and sales operations on the US East and West coasts. Rex Features has a long history as the UK sales agency for Berliner Studio, and in recent years this collaboration has become increasingly close and successful.

All Over Press International opens an office in Moscow, Russia

All Over Press Russia serves Russian, mainly editorial clients focusing in entertainment imagery and video production and expanding the portfolio to sports, news and archival content once the operation gets started.

New MAGROUND photo agency online

Hamburg, Sept. 25, 2008. The picture agency MAGROUND which is providing high-resolution images of landscapes, cities, and backgrounds is now present on the internet. The locations are photographed from various angles. This fact aims at distinguishing MAGROUND from other providers in this field. Advertising agencies in particular may use this archive in addition to their research for appropriate images.

The multi-perspective images enable diverse productions, sophisticated composing, as well as CGI productions (computer generated imagery), for which three-dimensional objects are integrated into the background image in a photo-realistic way.
