Photography Programme (PDP) at the Market Photo Workshop announced today that Getty
Images is expanding its long-standing support in 2009.
John Fleetwood, Head of the Market Photo Workshop said "We are extremely pleased that even
in these financially unsettled times across the globe, Getty Images is not only sustaining a
significant financial partnership with the PDP, but that they are also helping to strengthen the
programme in other ways."

Both Professional and Student Photojournalists May Now Apply
New York, NY, and London, UK, Oct. 03, 2008. Both professional and student photojournalists have until November 15, 2008, to propose new projects for the next Getty Images Grants for Editorial Photography to be announced in February, 2009.
Getty Images awards five professional level grants of $20,000 each, totaling $100,000 annually to fund, inspire and support the best global talent in photojournalism. Two grants are awarded each February and three each September.

Mountain Light Pictures is proud to announce that renowned award-winning photographer Robert (Bob) Holmes has joined its growing list of contributing photographers.
Bob’s assignments have taken him searching for snow leopards in the remote valleys of western Nepal, journeying into the rain forests of Borneo, and crossing the Great Indian Desert on a camel.
He has illustrated more than 35 books and has regularly been one of the elite group of photojournalists invited to participate in the acclaimed "Day in the Life" series. He’s won many awards, including the coveted Travel Photographer of the Year award from the Society of American Travel Writers in 1990 and 1992, making him the first photographer to receive the award twice.

completion of trial, Judge Barbara S. Jones in the United States
District Court, Southern District of New York, has found in our favor
holding Corbis Corporation negligent and liable for losing some 12,666
analog images shot and owned by photojournalist, Chris Usher. The
decision in Chris Usher v. Corbis, et al. 03-CV-4366 (BSJ) dated
November 6, 2007 will be available on line shortly. This is a case on
which I share the credit with my associate Erica Galinski, who
unfortunately did not live to see the decision.
