Like in the past, the Alexa ranking list refers only to sites reporting mainly about the small stock photo industry.
I think that I and some of you in the comment section have written largely in the past whether watching the Alexa ranking list is useful or not and if Alexa is a trustworthy tool at all, or not. Usually poeple cry out loud, how superb Alexa is, if their ranking value is low (which is good), and blame Alexa to be a stupid tool, if their ranking value is high (which is bad). A very common story.
However, even if one tends to think that Alexa possibly might not be a very reliable tool for measuring web traffic, the big surprise on this date is that PDN Online, the web version of the well respected trade publication Photo District News and covering literally everything from cameras over software to exhibitions and stock photo news, has such a poor Alexa Ranking.
Within roughly one year, PDN´s Alexa value dropped from 42,880 to 80,390. I would have expected a continuous ranking far below 50,000.
HInt: American PHOTO runs no longer officially under the domain http://www.americanphotomag.com/, but under the Popphoto main domain http://www.popphoto.com/americanphoto/ with an Alexa ranking of 18,154. Which is of course the ranking of Popphoto, not specifically of American PHOTO.
