Sydney, Australia -- Getty Images, the world's leading imagery company, has signed an agreement today with renowned Australian celebrity photographer, Patrick Riviere , owner of Sydney Freelance. This agreement will see Riviere join Getty Images as a full-time staff photographer, whilst his collection of existing imagery from Sydney Freelance will also be marketed exclusively via Getty Images.
This agreement will further boost Getty Images offering of celebrity imagery, building on the recent additions in Europe and the US of Dave Bennett, Dave Hogan and Frank Micelotta.
Riviere will bring a wealth of experience to the Getty Images team, and will be a key component of Getty Images increased focus on celebrity photography. Riviere's library of imagery includes a comprehensive archive of Australian celebrities in addition to famous visitors to Australia over the last 25 years.
Riviere will continue to photograph top celebrities and events. Stuart Hannagan, Director of Photography for Getty Images, Asia Pacific commented, "Patrick will provide a formidable source of top-class celebrity, entertainment and news photography for both our domestic and international markets and we are very excited to have him join our team of photographers."
Riviere's socially and historically important library of over 25,000 images will be incorporated into the Getty Images collection and will be available on-line at www.gettyimages.com from 4 June 2004. His attention to detail over a period of time provides a unique, objective collection of such famous names as Kylie Minogue, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and Mel Gibson along with many other actors, celebrities and politicians.
Patrick's business partner at Sydney Freelance, Sylvie Arteon, will also be joining Getty Images as a picture editor, bringing with her a vast wealth of experience and great knowledge of the industry.
